Using this site

You may read, print and share these pages for your own use, or to discuss a heating project. Please do not republish substantial parts of the content as your own, present it as anyone else’s work, or use it to mislead. Do not attempt to interfere with the site or with anyone else’s use of it.

What the Home Energy Assessment is, and is not

This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is stated plainly. The Home Energy Assessment is a short questionnaire that gives you an indicative sense of whether a heat pump is worth exploring for your property, based only on what you tell it.

It is not:

• a heat loss calculation;
• a technical design or specification;
• a survey;
• a quotation, an offer or a price indication; or
• a final answer about your property.

The outcome is produced by software from your answers. If you choose to send your assessment to us, it is read by a person before we act on it. A person can and does disagree with it in both directions. Real suitability is determined by a survey, carried out by someone who has been to the property, and we explain our reasoning to you. Please do not treat an on-screen outcome as a commitment by us to do the work, or as a reason to commit money elsewhere.

Our advice articles

The advice pages explain how heat pumps, heat loss, emitters, hot water and controls generally work. They are general information, written to help you ask better questions. Every property is different, and general guidance cannot account for yours. Please do not rely on it as specific technical, financial, legal or regulatory advice for your home. Standards, grant schemes and building regulations also change; we update these pages, but we cannot guarantee that everything is current at the moment you read it.

We do not publish prices, and we do not publish predicted savings. If a figure matters to your decision, ask us and we will explain what it depends on.

Content and trade marks

The text, diagrams, illustrations, layout and the Airwarm name and emblem belong to Airwarm Ltd or are used with permission. The Montserrat typeface is used under its own licence.

Links to other sites

Where we link to another organisation — a regulator, a manufacturer, a government page — we do so because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Availability

We try to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or remove content, and we may change these terms; the version and date at the top tell you which version applies.

Our responsibility to you

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

We do not exclude or limit our liability where the law does not allow it. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing on this page affects your statutory rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
